About Time is a vegan protein formula powder. As mentioned in a previous review, I’m sensitive to whey and processed foods aren’t great for my health (or anyone’s really, but particularly if you have a thyroid condition).
The initial thing that annoyed me about this brand is that they advertise on the label, “100% ALL NATURAL.” Anyone who has a clue about labeling or nutrition knows that there is zero regulation behind the claim of a product being natural. There’s no meaning behind the word “natural.” I mean there might be in your head, but it means nothing for the product to say that.
That aside, this protein is decent. I like the protein ingredients, which are pea protein, brown rice protein and pumpkin protein. It’s rich in amino acids and does contain a digestive enzyme blend. The flavor options are chocolate or vanilla.
Nutritionally, one scoop contains 122 calories, 2.3 grams of fat, one gram of carbohydrates and 24 grams of protein.
The texture and flavor aren’t quite as good as the Plant Fusion brand that I also use and reviewed. I attribute that to the difference in fat that the About Time brand contains, which is three grams per serving less than Plant Fusion’s.
If you’re really watching your carb numbers, this option might be better for you.
